Justyce Schilz Ms. Lehmann English 1-3 15 March 2019 Response to As You Like It Recently, a group of actors called Shakespearience came to our school and performed a play for us called As You Like It, written by William Shakespeare. Shakespearience set this play in the 1980’s. This play was written 500 years ago. The costumes fit into the 1980’s theme really well. I liked the costume choices that the actors made because at certain parts in the play, the costumes fit with the scene. In the scene where they were getting ready to fight, their costumes clearly looked like they were going to be fighting. All of the costumes were really fun and creative. The music also fit really well with the play. The actors made sure that the music was around the 1980’s theme. The Shakespearience actors made sure that the music fit into the correct parts of the play. I really liked the music that was used in the play. The actors did an amazing job with this play. My favorite part in the play was the scene where the wrestler and Orlando were fighting because I thought that they were actually fighting. They made sound effects to make it sound real. My least favorite part of the play was the kissing scene when Celia and Oliver kissed because it was too loud. I did not have a favorite character or a least favorite character because I felt like all the actors did a really nice job and worked hard to put on the play. Some of the actors played more than one role during the play, and I thought that was really cool because it must take a lot of time and effort to learn all of the roles. The theme was set in the 1980’s, and I thought that they did a really good job with the costumes and music under that theme. All of the props looked like they were from the 1980’s. My favorite prop was probably the radio. It was my favorite because it was cool and really reminded me of the 1980’s. The costumes looked like they were clothes from the 1980’s. The different costumes they had chosen for each scene were good because I felt like they fit the scene the actors where in at that time. The actors made the 1980’s theme come to life. In conclusion, I really enjoyed this play. I liked this play because I enjoy watching plays, and I think this is one of the best ones I have watched. The play was put together well and everything made sense. I thought that it was cool that one person played more than one role throughout the play. The costumes and music were great! Shakespearience put on a great show, and I would like them to come back and put on another play for the school.
